Synopsis Sonja Henie "has really come of age as an actress!" cried The New York Post of the three-time Olympic skating champion's triumphant performance in this spectacular love story spiced with sumptuous sets, glittering costumes and, of course, Henie's top-notch skating! Henie is Chris Linden, an ice skating angel who swoops in to catch fallen hockey pro Don Martin (Michael O'Shea) by landing him a job in her new ice show. At first the show - and their sudden marriage - flow as smoothly as the bourbon to which Don seems so partial. But trouble arrives in the shapely form of Gale Fletcher (Marie McDonald), who's determined to add a little heat to Don's repertoire - even if it means running his career right onto the rocks with a few white lies about his drinking. It's up to Chris to cool Don's blades before he skates their marriage right onto thin ice! Featuring "thrilling hockey scenes and a drama and ice numbers as good as any this reviewer has ever seen" (Louella Parsons, L.A. Examiner), this gorgeously mounted and beautifully photographed picture is more than great entertainment - It's a Pleasure! [from back of MGM/UA videotape sleeve, ©1996] |
