There is much more to an ice revue than merely the skating of it. Long months of planning and preparation precede the first thrilling fanfare.
Behind Sonja Henie, the First Lady of Ice, is Sonja Henie, the individual; and it is this warm, human personality which contributes so largely to her charm as a performer on skates.
Like all great performers, Miss Henie recognizes a responsibility to the public which by its appreciation of her artistry has made her fame world-wide. But, like all of us, she loves her home and the quiet and inspiration it provides.
The Art Institute of Chicago and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York know Miss Henie as a serious and frequent visitor to their galeries; and in her California home paintings by great masters attest the genuineness of her love of beauty - a love which she strives constantly to transfer to her own special field of art, the art of rhythm and beauty on skates.
