The Dream That Came True -
Sonja Henie's Ice Revue

Ever since she was a little girl in far away Norway, Sonja Henie has dreamed that some day she would be the head of the world's greatest ice skating show. And this dream has come true.

Sonja Henie with her "Hollywood Ice Revue" today is considered the greatest box office attraction in the world. Thousands and thousands of ice skating enthusiasts of New York started to purchase tickets three weeks in advance of the New York engagement, which promises to set a new record in attendance at ice productions.

Miss Henie decided over a year ago to organize and head her own company of skaters and present to the ice-loving public new ideas and innovations, vastly different from the shows of the past.

Out of the hundreds of skaters that worked on the Twentieth Century-Fox Lot, Miss Henie selected four score to accompany her on her personal tour, which will include the Chicago Stadium, Detroit Olympia, Cleveland Arena, Boston Garden and Madison Square Garden, with tentative dates in Miami, Fla., Montreal, Canada, and other cities.

All of these skaters are young and ambitious. Primarily, they are dancers first, then skaters. They were selected for their dancing ability and then for their skill on the ice. The girls are young and pretty, and the boys attractive, but yet, stalwart and manly. For instance, five of the male members of the huge company are hockey players on the University of Southern California team, while another was at one time a Golden Glove boxer.

Miss Henie went into a strange field for her director and selected Harry Losee, who gained his fame by staging the numbers in "Shall We Dance," "It Can Happen Here," and other musicals. And her judgment was approved by the rapid manner in which Mr. Losee put together the "Hollywood Ice Revue."

Miss Henie's ideas were captured immediately by Mr. Losee and put into instant action. The group and production numbers are certain to meet with hearty approval from the ice skating enthusiasts.

Hollywood costumers and artists have contributed liberally to Sonja Henie's "Hollywood Ice Revue." Royer, the noted creator at Twentieth Century-Fox, designed the costumes, which were executed by Arthur Levy, also known throughout the motion picture industry for his skill. Master electricians and scenic artists vied with each other to produce new effects and gorgeous backgrounds.

Miss Henie believes in the best for her company and when departing from Hollywood it was in the most modern transportation available - huge 21-passenger planes. It has been a "Happy Landing" thus far on her tour and it will be a happy landing from now on for this Norwegian wonder child - the "First Lady of the Ice."
