CENTRAL PARK IS REPRODUCED ON A SOUND STAGE

Two miles of pipe were laid on the floor of a 20th Century-Fox sound stage to make an ice rink with 200,000 square feet of surface for this representation of New York's Central Park, one of the major settings for Sonja Henie's third picture, Happy Landing, to be released next month.

Asked to do a skating sequence in "Happy Landing," Don Ameche, leading man, skated out bravely for his first rehearsal. As a boy he was quite a skater; but now something was wrong. First thing Don Ameche knew, shiney ice was coming up to meet him. Sonja flitted over, smiling, offered help. But Don Ameche did not smile; for he knew that that was no way for a hero to act.
